Why does failure always overcomes success in our lives, even though we might be applying God's principles in our daily life by doing good things to people, meditating His Word, honoring Him in thought, speech and acts. All the time we go around trying to do things according to our own will. We feel too sure and confident about ourselves that we don't take the time to go before God to make sure that we have His consent or approval before we can even think about doing anything. One of the greatest mistakes we constantly make is  believing that the Gospel of God is about always doing what is good or right.  In reality, the Gospel of God is only about doing God's will whether it seems to be right or not at people's eyes. Can all good and right things be considered as the will of God? Certainly not ; it is the reason why in Ps 40:8, David said: "I desire to do your will, O my God " Furthermore in Ps 143:10, David asked God to teach him His will. David understood that the will of God was the critical element in determining whether he should do something or not. This is the reason why Christians should be careful while taking actions or making decisions without consulting God or questioning His will. You might be doing something you consider being good, but it is not the will of God.

Christians believe that they are connected to God just because of the good works they do. This is feeling Satan uses to pull Christians away from God. Satan will always try to distract us with so much good works that we will fail to discern what is important to God. The bible says in the Gospel of Luke 10:38-42 that a great servant of God named Martha welcomed Jesus in her home. Martha was so distracted with all the preparations that had to be made and she asked Jesus, "Lord, don't you care that my sister Mary who is seating at your feet has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me?". Jesus wisely said, "Martha you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Martha was doing a great and good work by serving and taking care of her guests, but it was not the will of God for her at that moment to be serving people. Because she was so distracted, she failed to discern that God wanted her to be seating at Jesus' feet to listen to His Word like Mary. She even thought that her sister behavior was wrong, but she was surprised to find out that hers was actually the wrong one. Do you see how so many of us get caught up with so much works that they reduce our ability to hear from God? Moreover, God saw this coming long ago, He said in Ephesians 2:8-9 that "we are not saved by works, but by faith".  Christians should not prioritize their work over the will of God. It is very important for Christians to seek the will of God and to hear from Him. The Bible says that a church without revelation is dead. In other words, the members of the church don't have life in them when they don't receive revelations from the Lord. It is not always easy to wait on the lord before stepping forward, but God also commanded us to wait in silence for answers after we have prayed. Patience is one of the fruits of the spirit which should be a virtue of our heart because it strengthens us while we are waiting on the Lord.

I believe that the lord Jesus Christ is righteous, and He will not hide himself from us if we diligently seek His presence and will. As a matter of fact, He said in Jeremiah 29:12-14 that we should call on Him and pray to come to him, he will then listen and let Himself be found by those who will seek him with all their heart. It is important that the Youth generation of today learn to look for God's will in their studies, projects, marriage, job, actions, thoughts, behavior and everything they do and they intend to do during their lifetime. If Abraham, Moses, and David, Joseph, Daniel, Timothy, Philemon and many others made it, then you can also.

Pray this simple prayer believing with all your heart

                                                                          Lord Jesus!
I desire to do your WILL
I want to seal your laws within my heart
Teach me how to do your WILL for you are my only God
                                                                   In Jesus' Name, Amen!
